SUGARING - PREP & HOME CARE
Prep for all body areas:
Prior to your body sugaring hair removal treatment:
Hair should be at LEAST 1/4 inch long (approx half the size of a rice grain or longer) should your hair be shorter, the sugaring treatment MAY NOT be able to go ahead
You should not use any other methods of hair removal in the area going to be sugared for at LEAST three weeks prior to your sugaring treatment
Skin should be clean and dry prior to your treatment
AVOID: using powders, sprays, lotions or deodorant prior to your sugaring treatment as the excess moisture could interfere with the treatment
Exfoliate your skin 48 hours prior to your sugaring treatment, but not on the day of
For intimate sugaring: It is recommended to wear fresh underwear after your treatment due to the hair being freshly removed from the hair follicle, we want to reduce the chance of any debris or bacteria infecting the follicle.
Wait 48 hours before exfoliating, soaking and/or any exposure to UV rays
Exfoliate every other day thereafter (3-4x a week)
Exfoliate with a granular scrub, dry brush or S&S’s Exfoliating Mitt
Avoid tweezing, shaving and epilating between appointments
For the first 24 hours, avoid perfumed skin products or those with chemical irritants
If sore, use a cold compress. Any irritation or itching for more than 48 hours seek medical advice and inform us as soon as possible
To reduce chances of bacterial infection, avoid pools, saunas/steam rooms and hot tubs for at least two days after your appointment.
Refrain from touching the freshly sugared area for the first 24 hours. We carry germs on our hands and the area sugared could be more susceptible to a bacterial infection
Refrain from any strenuous exercise or sexual activity for 48 hours post sugaring
Should you want to shower on the day of treatment, it's recommended for your shower to be cool.
No baths for the first 24 hours
Avoid tight clothing
